Discovery Dish (Mini Review)

Quick ‘mini review’ of the Discovery Dish with L-Band ACARS feed. You can see the Crowdsupply campaign here. Took a few more months than expected for it to ship, but turns out, it was worth the wait. Make sure you get the right feed for your end goal. There are two L-Bandish mounts, so take your time and think about what you want to cover. The dish and the feed come really well boxed. image 1669×1017 211 KB On first unboxing its very impressive. Just a really well packed and well-presented unit. Nice multi language instruction book with loads of diagrams and pictures walking you through the assembly and tuning of the dish. Mar 2026. Added a new search feature to the site search page. Starting with the home page :  https://tbg.airframes.io Quick breakdown on the site pages as people did not know what was is on the site or how to use the menu. Quick links to important places to find more information about ACARS or the site. Tips section that I hope to expand to an FAQ at some point. Example coverage screenshots of each of the feeds to help people understand them. The Iridium ‘coverage’ screenshot is live and updates every minute. Site Search. Most popular page on the site: Search ACARS messages from all sources from the past 7 days. For msg, OR, AND, NOT, TYPE text entry areas, only * wildcard is allowed. Also no regex (yet). TIP: Leave all 8 boxes blank, tick ‘just military’ and click search to see latest 100 messages from military aircraft. 8 search text boxes: msg text is any word or phrase you are looking for to be in the main ACARS message.
